There has been increasing concern over rising inequality in many part of the world. Indonesia is one of the few countries which experienced a rapid increase of inequality recently. This can be an interest not only of national researchers but also researchers from many other countries.
As CEDS has been known to produce numerous research on various aspects of inequality in Indonesia, on Friday, October 17, 2014, the center welcome visitors from Mexico, Namibya, South Africa, and India to discuss various global inequality issues.
Researchers from those countries together with CEDS researchers discussed the recent trend of Indonesian inequality, its causes and impacts and tried to draw lessons learned. CEDS researchers also learned from those countries' experience on how problem of inequality has been tackled in their home countries.
This visit has been a result of collaboration between INFID and CEDS which also a part of greater effort of the center to connect with civil society organization to improve various aspect of social life in Indonesia.
