Advanced Dynamic Regional CGE training held in CEDS

As a result of years of collaborative work between CEDS, CoPS (Victoria University), Asian Development Bank, BAPPENAS, and Australian Government, Indonesia now has one of the most advanced inter-regional dynamic computable general equilibrium (CGE) models called IndoTERM. IndoTERM is a bottom-up inter-regional CGE model which treats region as a separate economy. The master IndoTERM database distinguished 175 sectors and 33 provinces. The model can run dynamically with a baseline forecast toward 2030 and can be used to evaluate various policy scenarios.

The training of the dynamic IndoTERM model will be held at CEDS in Bandung, Indonesia on 11-16 August 2014. The participants include policy makers from BAPPENAS, researchers from various Indonesian universities and other government agencies. Prof. Mark Horridge, Dr. Louise Roos from CoPS, and Dr. Arief Anshory Yusuf from CEDS will be the main instructors for this training. The visit from the two CoPS researchers at CEDS also involve joint research and publication based on the use of the model to analyze various relevant issues including the economic and environmental impact of reducing emissions from deforestation.
